Joey Andrews is a fourth-generation Southwest Michigan native, born and raised in St. Joseph. He is running for re-election in Michigan's 38th House District. Joey spent his first term advocating for working families, protecting personal freedoms, and fighting for investments in his local economy. He led efforts to repeal “Right to Work” laws and defended reproductive rights, ensuring access to healthcare services. His support helped pass the expansions of the Elliott Larsen Civil Rights Act, advancing equality statewide. He is committed to working for continued progress and prosperity for Michigan's 38th House District.

Kyra Harris Bolden

Running for: State Supreme Court

Re-Elect
Kyra Harris Bolder is seeking to represent Michigan through election to the State Supreme Court. She is the first black woman to serve on the court. After graduation from Grand Valley State University, she remained in Michigan and received her Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. As a representative, she has tirelessly dedicated herself to criminal justice reform. As a member of the Judiciary Committee, Rep. Bolden has had the opportunity to craft bipartisan legislation to protect victims of sexual violence. She has also passed pieces of critical bipartisan legislation into law, including the “Medically Frail” prison reform package, the revision of the Wrongful Imprisonment Compensation Act, and the “Address Confidentiality for Survivors of Domestic Violence” package. 

In addition to serving as state house representative for her hometown of Southfield, Rep. Bolden has a rich legal past through her roles as a criminal defense attorney and judicial law clerk and is an active member of the local legal community.

So far in her first term, Justice Bolden has prioritized ensuring equal access to justice, a mission she will continue to prioritize in her second term. She remains committed to criminal justice reform and hopes to continue to expand her advocacy through election to Michigan’s State Supreme Court.

Jaime is a longtime resident of Downriver with deep roots in the area and a personal commitment to its growth and prosperity. She is running for re-election in Michigan's House District 27. 

Jaime has a background in education, teaching 5th grade for 11 years and serving as her union's vice president. Her knowledge and experience in labor matters, education policies, and infrastructure have made her a valuable asset in Lansing. In her first term in the State House, Jaime contributed significantly to critical issues facing the state. Aisha Farooqi

Aisha Farooqi is a devoted candidate for State Representative in Michigan House District 57, motivated by her family's immigration to the United States and her own upbringing in Detroit. Her mother's scholarship to the University of Detroit Mercy, as well as her father's hard labor in a family company, instilled in Aisha the virtues of persistence and community. Aisha pursued a career in public service after being inspired by her professors' generosity and the Leonelli family's benevolence. She received a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where she was class president.

Aisha has held positions in both the public and commercial sectors, including as a legal aid attorney and assistant prosecuting attorney in Wayne County, where she specialized on difficult juvenile cases. Her community activity, which includes interfaith work and service on the Sterling Heights Zoning Board of Appeals, demonstrates her dedication to meeting the needs of her constituency. Aisha is committed to promoting economic growth, preserving workers' rights, and making sure that every voice in her area is heard and represented in the State Legislature.

John Fitzgerald

John Fitzgerald is an invested public servant who advocates for Michigan's hardworking families. John was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in 2022, and he has advocated for crucial topics such as workers' rights, healthcare accessibility, and decent education for everybody. John and his wife Kellie, who grew up in Lansing and graduated from Michigan State University, relocated to West Michigan in 2014 and soon became involved in their community. His leadership path began in 2020, when he was elected to the Wyoming City Council, where he worked on infrastructure improvements, public safety, and tax cuts. As a state representative, John now serves as head of the Local Government and Municipal Finance Committee and has been important in getting approximately $70 million in budget grants to aid District 83.

John's legislative accomplishments include proposing laws to improve school safety through defibrillator installations and staff training, as well as increasing healthcare access, improving affordable housing, and investing in West Michigan's infrastructure. John is a strong champion for reproductive freedom, gun safety, and school reform, and he advocates for policies that safeguard Michigan's families and future generations. Outside of work in Lansing, John likes spending time with his wife and daughter, reading American history, and discovering Michigan's natural wonders. With a goal of making Michigan the ideal location to raise a family, John is dedicated to creating a better, more prosperous community for everyone.

His time on the Calhoun County Board, as well as positions on several community boards and organizations, demonstrate his strong dedication to local service. Since being elected to the State House in January 2019, Jim has advocated for topics such as job development, school financing, and accessible healthcare, working relentlessly to meet his district's pressing needs.

Jim's strives to expand economic prospects through job development, increase public school financing, and improve healthcare accessibility. Rudy Howard

Rudy Howard is a strong supporter of Bay County and its hardworking families. He grew up in a household that values public duty. His stepmother was an assistant county prosecutor, his grandpa was an ordained clergyman, and his grandmother worked as a public school teacher. Rudy continued this heritage of devotion after a successful career in the automobile sector, returning to Bay County to become an instructor. He possesses master's degrees in public administration and education and has taught at schools throughout Bay, Saginaw, and Genesee counties. Rudy and his wife, Tristica, live in Bay County with their dog, Esther, and two children, Kara and Rudy Michael III, who are also attending college.

Rudy's labor background is substantial, spanning three generations of union members. He credits the UAW with raising his family out of poverty and recognizes the essential role that unions play in providing safe workplaces, fair pay, and benefits. Rudy observed directly how unions contribute to thriving economies after spending more than a decade in management for Ford and other automakers. He is now running for House District 96 and is devoted to creating a more equitable economy, improving schools, and protecting workers' rights. Rudy's vision for a stronger Bay County is driven by his enthusiasm for public service, as well as his commitment to education and economic opportunities.

Matt Kolezar

State Rep. Matt Koleszar is running for re-election in Michigan’s 22nd House District, which includes the cities of Northville and Plymouth, most of Northville and Plymouth Townships, and a portion of Livonia.

He serves as minority whip,  minority vice chair of the House elections and ethics committee, and a member of the House Education Committee. Throughout his past term, Representative Kolezar has focused on passing legislation and budgets to help improve education and healthcare. Kristen McDonald Rivet, a longtime Michigan resident, grew up in a working-class household and was the first in her family to attend college, graduating from Michigan State and the University of Michigan-Flint. Matt Schlinker is the Democratic candidate for Michigan's 68th District, stepping into the race following the unexpected death of former state Rep. Tim Sneller. A longtime General Motors employee and resident of Goodrich, Schlinker has been involved in local campaigns for years and had known Sneller for decades. After Sneller's passing just weeks before the primary, Schlinker launched a last-minute write-in campaign to continue his friend’s legacy. He is now focused on carrying forward the values of civil rights and working families that Sneller championed, as he faces Republican incumbent David Martin in November.

Nate Shannon

Kimberly Ann Thomas

Kimberly Ann Thomas is a distinguished law professor at the University of Michigan Law School. She directs the Juvenile Justice Clinic, which advocates for low-income Michiganders and teaches students about the ethical practice of law. Her experience, commitment to justice, and honesty will make her an important voice on the Michigan Supreme Court.

Kimberly was a member of the Michigan Task Force on Juvenile Justice Reform and is a Fulbright Scholar from the United States, teaching at University College Cork in Ireland. She has also collaborated internationally with the American Bar Association to strengthen legal education in Jordan, Egypt, and Turkey.

Kimberly has a law degree from Harvard Law School and resides in Washtenaw County with her husband and two children. In her spare time, she helps at her children's schools and likes visiting Michigan's parks with her family.

Stephen Wooden is running for state representative in District 81. In his time in Grand Rapids, he has worked relentlessly to assist everyday Michigan residents to save money, from cutting energy bills to constructing affordable housing. Growing up in New York City, he observed the great solidarity that arose following the 9/11 attacks. This encounter showed him that individuals from different backgrounds want the same things: secure communities, excellent schools, and the ability to support their families. Stephen's commitment to developing solutions based on these shared goals has served as a guiding concept throughout his career.

As Kent County Commissioner since 2018 and current Minority Vice-Chair, Stephen has a track record of achieving results. He has advocated for bipartisan measures to combat lead poisoning, enhance emergency mental health care, and boost broadband availability. Most notably, Stephen oversaw the establishment of the Kent County Affordable Housing Revolving Loan Fund, which received $17.5 million in federal monies and has developed into a $58.3 million public-private partnership—the largest of its type in West Michigan. Stephen's leadership is centered on bringing people together to safeguard what is most important, from cutting housing prices and expanding childcare to preserving reproductive rights and addressing climate change.

Mai Xiong

Mai Xiong’s journey from a refugee camp in Thailand to become the first Asian-American and former refugee elected to the Macomb County Board of Commissioners is a testament to resilience and service. Born to parents who fled Laos after the Vietnam War, Mai’s family arrived in the U.S. seeking freedom and opportunity. She became the first in her family to complete a full public school education and later graduate from the College for Creative Studies. In , Mai was elected by the residents of Warren to serve as the first Asian-American and former refugee on the Macomb County Board of Commissioners. 

As State Representative, Mai has introduced bi-partisan legislation to improve health care and help families get ahead, voted to ensure that public school students continue to receive free breakfast and lunch, and gone after big-box retailers to pay their fair share of property taxes. Mai knows firsthand how hard it is to stretch every dollar, and she’s going to continue to fight for the people in her community.

Mai is running for re-election in Michigan’s 13th House District to continue advocating for all residents.
