Kristen McDonald Rivet, a longtime Michigan resident, grew up in a working-class household and was the first in her family to attend college, graduating from Michigan State and the University of Michigan-Flint. Kristen has spent her career supporting children and families, serving as Executive Director of Michigan Head Start and in senior positions in education and public policy.
As a Michigan State Senator, she has fought across party lines to enact historic tax cuts for working people, decrease the cost of necessities, and safeguard reproductive rights. Kristen is running for Congress in Michigan's 8th District to continue the battle for affordable healthcare, good-paying employment, and Social Security benefits. She resides in Bay City with her husband and children.
