2022 GOALS

In the 2022 election cycle we partnered with organizations Forward Justice Ohio, Planned Parenthood Illinois, and One Arizona to support GOTV efforts as well as a slate of incumbents and new candidates dedicated to good governance reform and the protection of reproductive rights.

The Hometown Project also partnered with state parties to help elect progressive candidates including the Michigan Democratic Party and the North Carolina Democratic Party. We supported 27 progressive candidates, with 16 victories in competitive races in the crucial battleground races. Our work targeted and reached over 1 million voters within those districts with over 9 million ad impressions.

”The work of The Hometown Project was integral to our local engagement strategy in the 2022 elections. The videos and banner ads sparked positivity and energy and ultimately increased voter participation. They did not have the typical look and feel of an “ad”, which was really appealing. We were excited to work with The Hometown Project again after our terrific 2020 collaboration. Working with Hometown is delightful, and more importantly, it’s also extremely effective..”
— Lavora Barnes, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party

2022 creative content

Hear from our Energizers

Artists hailing from Michigan, Arizona, North Carolina, and Ohio, including Ernie Hudson, Ariana DeBose, Phillipa Soo, Kate Walsh and more supported voter mobilization efforts as well as candidates in their “hometown” districts. We produced creative content in the form of 30 and 15 second video campaigns as well as banner ad/static image campaigns and digitally distributed within the districts leading up to the election.

We are particularly proud of our work in Michigan in the 2022 cycle, where we partnered for the second time with the Michigan Democratic Party, supporting 16 of their priority state legislative candidates. Each video and corresponding banner ad campaign is digitally distributed within the local districts, specifically targeting the voters we need to reach. All of our videos are positive and emphasize community connection, and the important decisions local officials make.
