Dan Aymar-Blair currently serves as the Dutchess County Comptroller, elected in 2024 as the county’s independent financial watchdog and is running for re-election this year. Before his election, Dan served as a Beacon City Council member from 2020 to 2024, where he championed policies focused on affordability, sustainability, and good governance.

Kara Gerry is running for County Court Judge in Dutchess County, New York. A dedicated attorney in public service with over 18 years of experience in Hudson Valley courts, and currently the Bureau Chief of the Criminal Unit in the Dutchess County Public Defender’s Office, Kara’s experience as both a prosecutor and defense attorney gives her the balanced perspective to ensure that justice protects victims, holds offenders accountable, and respects constitutional rights.

Having previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in Orange County and as a Senior Assistant Public Defender in Dutchess County, her campaign for County Court Judge centers on fairness, integrity, and a commitment to public safety, ensuring that all individuals are treated equally under the law. 

She is also recognized for her advocacy on behalf of survivors of domestic violence, including her representation of Nikki Addimando in a high-profile county case several years ago.

Kara is passionate about improving outcomes for youth and those struggling with mental health and substance use, and she supports restorative justice efforts that focus on rehabilitation without compromising safety.

A graduate of Marist College and Pace University’s Elisabeth Haub School of Law, Kara lives in Lagrangeville with her husband and three children, and is committed to serving her community both inside and outside the courtroom.
