Mary Edly-Allen is an educator, a mother of four, and a longtime advocate for children. As a volunteer in her community, Mary co-founded an organization that raises money and identifies new sources of funding to improve schools — without increasing the burden on property owners. Since 2006, Mary has worked in bilingual education in the Grayslake public schools, helping the young children of immigrant families prepare for a lifetime of success. As a state representative in the 51st district, she uses her voice to stand up for students, the environment, and fundamental human rights.
Priorities:
Stand up for hometown values, create jobs while preserving the environment, support real solutions to end school shootings and other gun violence.

As a math instructor, Katie shows students how to solve complex problems every day. If elected, she will bring the same skills to Springfield and review the state budget line-by-line, to eliminate waste while protecting vital services. As a full-time representative, Katie will support a budget that helps middle-class families.

Support local homeowners and businesses; require voters to approve any salary increase for politicians; fight for funding for education and healthcare.

A long-time resident of the district, Kacie has called Hoyleton home since childhood. She is the daughter of two working parents, and she understands the experiences of working families in the district. Kacie has worked in healthcare, education and with nonprofits. As part of her service in AmeriCorps, Kacie taught underprivileged youth and worked in re-entry services with women leaving the criminal justice system. Kacie understands the unnecessary hardships that can befall families struck by tragedy and what we can do as a community, and as a state, to help alleviate the burden for Illinois families.

Restore the American Dream; guarantee health care as a human right; invest in quality jobs for the people of Illinois; defend funding for all levels of education.
