Jasper “Jaz” Martus is a lifelong resident of Genesee County, Michigan. He is running for election to the Michigan 

House of Representatives District 69 with the aim of leaving future generations with a solid foundation for economic, educational, and infrastructural growth and development. Martus has volunteered for elected officials up and down the ballot since his mother first took him door to door for Barack Obama in 2008. Martus has experience working in both federal and local levels of government, formerly serving under Congressman Dan Kildee to help with medicare and social security programs, and overseeing legislation and constituent services for the Michigan Legislature.  He holds a degree from James Madison College at MSU with a degree in International Relations and a minor in World Religions.

According to Martus, the purpose of government is to serve the people and, growing up in Genesee, Michigan, he knows all too well how often this is forgotten.

State Rep. Terry J. Sabo is serving in his third term representing Michigan’s 92nd House District. He serves on the House Appropriations Committee and is the Democratic vice-chair of the General Government Sub-Committee and also serves on the Transportation and Corrections Sub-Committees.

Rep. Sabo has always put his community first. As a lifelong resident of Muskegon County, he has dedicated his time to developing a more safe and prosperous Muskegon. He served four years in the United States Air Force as a security policeman before his more than 25 years of employment as a Muskegon Heights fire fighter and police officer. During his career, he has also worked part-time for the North Muskegon Police Department and the Muskegon County Sheriff's Department. From 2011-2012, he served as a Muskegon County Road Commissioner before being elected to the Muskegon County Board of Commissioners in 2012. His colleagues elected him chairman of the Muskegon County Board of Commissioners in 2015 and again in 2016.

Now he’s running for State Senate, to continue and grow his longstanding career of serving his community.


Terry and his wife Denise are proud parents of four children and nine grandchildren. He and Denise reside in Laketon Township in Muskegon County.

If there’s one thing about Justice Jennifer Bruner, it’s that she does not suffer from a lack of experience. Justice Brunner worked for 17 years in private law practice, followed by six years as a state appeals court judge on the Tenth District Court of Appeals, and five on the Franklin County Common Pleas Court. In 2006, she was elected Ohio’s first Secretary of State which she held for four years, and currently serves as Ohio Supreme Court Justice.

As a Springfield, Ohio native, Justice Brunner has witnessed firsthand the beauty of Ohio’s rich history and diverse population. For eight years, Justice Brunner served as a member on the board of advisors for an endowment fund created for Ohio’s LGBTQIA+ community, and six years on the board of the Mental Health America of Franklin County, an organization dedicated to mental health advocacy and social issues. Justice Brunner is running to become Ohio's 11th Chief Justice, and vows to protect the well-being of Ohio’s citizens because, in all her years of public service, she has learned the power that the courts hold and just how much good they can do.

Judge Terri Jamison is seeking election to the Ohio Supreme Court to ensure that equal justice isn’t just a possibility but a certainty for all Ohioans. After working for years in the coal mines in West Virginia, Judge Jamison chose to make Ohio her permanent home to pursue law and make a difference. Judge Jamison began her law career as an attorney in the Franklin County Public Defender’s Office and as a Hearing Officer for the Ohio Unemployment Compensation Review Commission. Jamison later opened her own law office before working at the Supreme Court of the United States in 2007. Jamison then began a run in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas in 2012 until she was elected to the Tenth District Court of Appeals in 2020.

Over the span of her career, Judge Jamison has worked to prove that courts belong to the people, therefore each and every person deserves to be treated as such. Justice, equity, inclusion, and compassion are Judge Jamison’s priorities in the courtroom, and they are the tools she feels are necessary for creating a safer Ohio.

Judge Marilyn Zayas knows what it means to persist in the face of adversity. Born in Harlem, New York to a seamstress and printer, Judge Zayas worked hard to be able to attend college for a degree in Computer Science. In 1994 however, Zayas made the difficult decision to leave her career in technology and pursue her dreams of becoming a lawyer.

Since then, Judge Zayas has made her mark in the law circuit by becoming the first Latina judge elected to an Ohio Court of Appeals, and as a strong advocate for accessibility and student outreach in law. Judge Zayas founded “Educating Tomorrow’s Leaders,” a program for Ohio students of all ages to visit the Court of Appeals and learn about law.

Judge Zayas’ contributions to the Ohio community have been recognized by Good Morning America, City of Cincinnati City Council, University of Cincinnati College of Law, and the Ohio Commission of Hispanic and Latino Affairs among others. Judge Zayas is running for Ohio Supreme Court to make sure that everyone who comes into her courtroom has a fair shot at justice.
